Velvet Notes: Custom Axminster Hospitality Carpet at HD Expo 2025

At Hospitality Design Expo 2025 in Las Vegas, Shaw Contract Hospitality unveiled a stunning custom Axminster carpet as the centerpiece of the HD Social Hub. The immersive space, Velvet Notes, was envisioned by Dallas-based design firm Flick Mars. This bespoke carpet was a storytelling canvas that captured the spirit of a bygone era while embracing the future of hospitality design.

Velvet Notes reimagined the glamour of the Rat Pack era through a modern lens. The space served as a moody, dramatic lounge and networking hub, where show attendees gathered to exchange ideas and inspiration.

The custom broadloom carpet set the tone of the lounge space with its lush tapestry of oversized palm fronds, flamingo plumes and subtle animal print motifs. These elements were woven together with intricate detailing, rich textures and a palette of deep, saturated colors that evoked both nostalgia and sophistication.

Flick Mars’ design was brought to life with Shaw Contract Hospitality custom Axminster broadloom. The 80% / 20% wool-nylon blend offers both durability and a luxurious feel, ideal for high-traffic hospitality environments.

The Social Hub installation was part of a broader showcase that also included the launch of the new Shaw Contract Hospitality Radiant custom broadloom collection and previews of new porcelain and ceramic tile lines.
